Subconscious Motivation vs. Subliminal Programs

 Subconscious Motivation
Subconscious motivation and sleep learning are based on clinical research. The science and applications have been well documented by Emile Coue’, Psychologist, Maxwell Maltz, M.D.,F.I.C.S, Victor Frankl, Psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung, Psychiatrist, Joseph Murphy, Ph.D.,D.R.S., D.D., L.L.D., The Sleep learning Institute of London, Tani, K. and Yoshii, N., 1970, Levy at the University of Florida, Evans at the University of Pennsylvania, Neurostar Research 1985, Northside Centre for Child Development, 1961, Dr, Ernst Schmid-hofer, Chief of the Neuropsychiatric Service Memphis VA Hospital, David Curtis, 1960, L.A. Bliznitchenko, Soviet Russia, F. Rubin, Scientific Advisor to the Sleep-learning Association in London. The presentation of each program is audible, the message is clear to ones hearing and has no elements of subliminal or masking effects from music or nature sounds.

 Subliminal Programs
James Vicary is a market researcher best known for pioneering the notion of subliminal advertising in 1957. He claimed that an experiment in which moviegoers were repeatedly shown 0.03-second advertisements for Coca-Cola and popcorn significantly increased their sales. In 1962, Vicary admitted that the original study was fabricated.

Subliminal tapes play on the ignorance of the public, and are not based on sound science. Subliminal self-help (SSH) audio tapes are widely advertised as being able to produce many desirable effects, including weight loss, smoking cessation, anxiety reduction, and improvement of sexual function. In ordinary use, purchasers of SSH tapes know and desire the target effect, which is clearly marked on the tape label and in accompanying literature. However, in listening (perhaps daily) to the tape, the user may hear nothing relevant to the target effect. The audible content of the tape typically consists of relaxing material, often music or recorded nature sounds, without audible suggestion. Research was conducted by The University of Washington and The University of California, Santa Cruz 1990 to provide a rigorous assessment of therapeutic effectiveness of selected SSH audio tapes. Tapes provided by three manufacturers were used in the course of the research; their audible content consisted of classical music, popular music, or recorded nature (surf or woodlands) sounds. The experiments performed by Gwald_Spang_Pratk are the most extensive double blind tests yet to be conducted of claimed therapeutic effects of audio tapes having subliminal verbal content. The findings showed clearly that subliminal audio tapes designed to improve memory and to increase self-esteem did not produce effects associated with subliminal content.
