Approach the correct side of the brain
Have you attended a seminar hosted by a charismatic personality who elevates, inspires and causes you to want to be better only to learn when it is over you are still the same struggling person? Perhaps you have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of books and tapes and while they were entertaining and presented good ideas did not deliver or meet with your expectations. If either of these situations sounds familiar do not be alarmed and do not feel ripped off. In each of these scenarios the information contained within these tapes and books were simply approaching the wrong side of the brain limiting their effectiveness.

Take advantage of the untouched parts of the brain
The urgency of this question—“How can I achieve a winning attitude?”—has initiated a marketed plethora of motivational material. Yet these materials, so far, have generated more success for those that sell them than for those who purchase them. The tapes and books that you have purchased in the past share one common problem, which limits their effectiveness. Briefly, the information contained in that material is presented during your waking (beta) phase of brain activity, which is to say less than seven percent of the brain is affected. The ninety plus percent, comprising the unconscious, is left untouched. Yet it is within the unconscious region that permanent changes occur. The conscious suffers from the effects of homeostasis, which in effect means, that the conscious likes things the way they are and resists change.
As much as 77% of what you tell yourself may be working against you”

Get motivated, not just educated
There are excellent books and exciting messages on tapes that will fire you up, and that are filled with excellent information. Much of this material is made available by specialists or experts who know the subject matter, but do not understand the workings of the mind. Continue purchasing these tapes and books with the understanding that you are being educated, not motivated.
